On March 16, Ambassador Liu Jianchao paid a courtesy call on Mr. Andi Mallarangeng, Indonesian State Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs. The two sides had a friendly exchange of views on the communication between the youths and sports affairs between the two countries.

Liu said, the youth is the future of a country as well as the future of the relations of the two countries. The Chinese Government attaches great importance to the youth work. He believes that the upcoming visit to China of the 100 Indonesian young people will surely enhance the friendly exchanges between the youth of the two countries. Liu also encouraged the two countries to further enhance sports cooperation.

Mr. Andi Mallarangeng expressed welcome to Ambassador Liu and the gratitude to the All-China Youth Federation for inviting the Indonesian youth to visit China. He said Asia is playing a more and more important role in the world stage. As two majors countries in Asia, China and Indonesia shall enhance their exchanges and cooperation so as to realize joint development.
