NHC Update on COVID-19

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 3 March, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 119 confirmed cases;

b) 38 fatal cases (including 37 in Hubei and 1 in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region);

c) 143 suspected cases;

d) 2,652 cured and discharged cases;

e) 6,250 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 390 fewer severe cases.

2. As of 24:00, 3 March, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 27,433 confirmed cases (including 6,416 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 49,856 cured and discharged cases;

c) 2,981 fatal cases;

d) 80,270 confirmed cases;

e) 520 suspected cases; and

f) 666,397 close contacts traced (including 36,432 still under medical observation).

3. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 3 March, the following were newly reported by Hubei:

a) 115 confirmed cases (including 114 in Wuhan);

b) 2,389 cured and discharged cases (including 1,859 in Wuhan);

c) 37 fatal cases (including 31 in Wuhan); and

d) 52 suspected cases (including 43 in Wuhan).

As of 24:00, 3 March, Hubei had reported:

a) 25,905 confirmed cases (including 22,368 in Wuhan) still under treatment;

b) 6,232 severe cases (including 5,723 in Wuhan);

c) 38,556 cured and discharged cases (including 24,890 in Wuhan);

d) 2,871 fatal cases (including 2,282 in Wuhan);

e) 67,332 confirmed cases (including 49,540 in Wuhan); and

f) 340 suspected cases (including 234 in Wuhan).

4. As of 24:00, 3 March, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 152 confirmed cases:

a) 100 (including 37 discharged cases and 2 fatal cases) in the Hong Kong SAR;

b) 10 (including 9 discharged cases) in the Macao SAR; and

c) 42 (including 12 discharged cases and 1 fatal case) in the Taiwan region.
