
BEIJING,
April 21 (Xinhuanet) -- China and Indonesia should
contribute more to the establishment of a fair and rational
international political and economic order, top legislator
Wu Bangguo said here Monday. Wu,
chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National
People's Congress (NPC), made the remarks while meeting with
A. M.Fatwa, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives
of Indonesia. As friendly neighbors,
Wu said, China and Indonesia had witnessed increasing
high-level exchanges and expanding cooperation in all fields
in recent years. The two countries
cooperated soundly in regional and international affairs, Wu
said, noting that China valued the positive role Indonesia
played in promoting relations between China and the
Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Fatwa said Indonesia and China, as two big
Asian countries, shared a traditional friendship. Fatwa stressed that Indonesia would adhere
to the one-China policy. Fatwa also
expressed thanks for the Chinese government's consistent
support for Indonesia's efforts to maintain the unification
