At the invitation of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah of the Brunei Darussalam and President Megawati Soekarnoputri of the Republic of Indonesia, Premier Zhu Rongji of the State Council will attend the 5th ASEAN+3 Summit and ASEAN+China Summit to be held in Brunei and  pay an official visit to Indonesia from 4 to 11 November. During meetings in Brunei, Premier Zhu will also attend the informal meeting of the leaders of China, Japan and ROK.

The forthcoming 10+3 and 10+1 Summits will be an important gathering of East Asian leaders at the turn of the century. It will be of great significance to the promotion of regional cooperation and China's ties with the ASEAN.

Premier Zhu's visit to Indonesia will push forward China's long-term, stable relations with Indonesia that is based on good-neighbourliness, mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation.
