Indonesian President Susilo meets with Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister
JAKARTA, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met with Chinese foreign minister Yang Jiechi here Thursday, during which both sides expressed satisfaction with development of bilateral relations.

    Susilo spoke highly of the development of Sino-indonesian relationship, saying that the leaders of both countries had regular meetings and shared identical views on concerned international issues.

    Susilo said Indonesia is expecting to strengthen strategic partnership relations with China in the fields of politics, economic and trade, energy, cultural cooperation and so on. He also hoped that Indonesia can do something positive to promote relations between China and ASEAN (The Association of Southeast Asian Nations).

    Susilo also emphasized that Indonesia had strictly pursued One China Policy, and the policy would not change. Yang expressed appreciation on Indonesia's position.

    Yang said that Chinese President Hu Jintao and President Susilo agreed on setting up China-Indonesia strategic partnership relations in 2005. The agreement paved the way for the two countries to develop their relations in the 21st century.

    The Chinese foreign minister arrived at Jakarta on Wednesday after a three-day visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. He concluded his first official visit to Indonesia as foreign minister after the meeting with Susilo.
