China Intensifis its Assistance to Indonesia

After the Chinese Government donated USD 2 million cash aid to Indonesian Government on May 27, the China International Rescue and Medical Team was also sent to Yogyakarta. The 43-person team, consisting of 19 doctors and nurses and several seismological experts, boarded on a charter flight together with tons of medical supplies, arrived in Batul, Yogyakarta in the early morning of May 30. They immediately carry out their relief activities without any delay. Their field hospital is located in SMA II Bantul, not far away from Rumah Sakit Bantul.

 

Meanwhile, the Chinese Government also decided to donate RMB 10 million (USD 1.25 million) worth of relief materials including tents, generators, medicine, bed mattress and other daily necessities that are deadly needed in the disaster area.

 

On the same day, China Red Cross also decided to donate USD 50 thousand to its Indonesian counterpart to help on relief work.
