Wang Yi said, the current China-Malaysia relations enjoy a sound momentum of development. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Malaysia. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Malaysian side to implement the important consensus reached by the two state leaders, enhance bilateral strategic mutual trust and further promote mutually beneficial cooperation. The Belt and Road Initiative upholds extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, adopts open, green and clean approaches, remains committed to high-quality, livelihood improvement and sustainable development. It focuses on promoting connectivity, and is highly consistent with the development strategies of Malaysia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. China and Malaysia should make the two joint industrial parks in China and Malaysia big and strong, and strengthen industrial and innovation cooperation. We are pleased to see the recent resumption of construction of the East Coast Railway project under cooperation between China and Malaysia. Both sides should strengthen coordination and cooperation in multilateral affairs and firmly support multilateralism and free trade.
