On November 5, 2009, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mrs. Zhang Qiyue paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Marzuki Alie, the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) of Indonesia. Ambassador Zhang conveyed to Mr. Marzuki the congratulations and greetings of H.E. Mr. Wu Bangguo, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC). Mr. Marzuki appreciated the good will of Mr. Wu Bangguo and asked Ambassador Zhang Qiyue to convey his sincere greetings to Mr. Wu Bangguo.
During the meeting, Mr. Marzuki said that DPR attaches great importance to the Indonesia-China relations, and is committed to further promote the development of the strategic partnership between Indonesia and China. He also vowed to continue the friendly exchanges between DPR and NPC.
