To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China, the "Ambassador Cup" China National Day Golf Tournament was held in the Royale Jakarta Golf Club, Jakarta in October 25, 2009.
Chinese Ambassador Zhang Qiyue attended the opening ceremony and started the ceremonial tee off. Over 130 golfers from the Indonesian Government, Parliament, Political Parties, business community and representatives from the Diplomat Corps and the Chinese companies in Indonesia attended the Tournament.
The Tournament was co-sponsored by the Association of Chinese Companies in Indonesia and the Indonesia-China Golfers Friendship Club.
The Tournament is held twice in August and October respectively each year to commemorate the Independent Day of the Republic of Indonesia and National Day of the People's Republic of China.
