Ambassador Xiao Qian meets Indonesian Minister of Defence Gen. (Ret) Ryamizard Ryacudu

On April 30th, Ambassador Xiao Qian met with H.E. Gen. (Ret) Ryamizard Ryacudu,Indonesian Minister of Defence (MoD). During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on China-Indonesia relations and bilateral military ties. The meeting was attended by Chinese Army, Navy & Air Attaché Sr. Col. Zhou Jian, Indonesian MoD Director General of Defence Strategy BG. M. Nakir, Chief of Defence Facilities Agency Rear Admiral Agus Setiadji, Head of Public Affair BG. Totok Sugiharto, Head of Administration Bureau Secretariat General BG. Yudhi Chandra.

As remarked by Ambassador Xiao Qian, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo, the China-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has made remarkable progress. The mil-to-mil relations and defense cooperation have yielded fruitful results: The two sides have maintained frequent high-level visits and extensive dialogue and consultation in the defence sector. The two armies are working to strengthen cooperation in personnel training, equipment, technology and to expand and elevate joint exercises and training.

Minister Ryamizard extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Xiao, and spoke highly of the recent progress in China-Indonesia relations and bilateral military ties. He expressed Indonesia's readiness to continuously explore and promote defence cooperation and elevate bilateral mil-to-mil relations to even greater heights.
