On 21th December, the 2 million Sinovac vaccines donated by the Chinese government to the Indonesian government arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. Director of East Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Santo Darmosumarto delivered written remarks via media.

Santo said, the arrival of 2 million Sinovac vaccines is a support for the third phase of dose sharing cooperation from the PRC Government. Thus, the total vaccine supported by the PRC Government that had arrived in Indonesia was 4 million doses. This dose sharing collaboration is a real implementation of the RI-PRC Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, especially in jointly facing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is the support and help of many countries including China that makes Indonesia one of the most-vaccinated in the world. He expressed gratitude and appreciation for the vaccine support given by the Chinese government.

The 2 million doses of vaccines is a new effort made by the Chinese government to support Indonesia's fight against COVID-19 following the recent donation of medical supplies to the Indonesian government, including 120 ventilators, and 400 oxygen generators last August, 1 million doses of vaccines last September, and 1 million doses of vaccines last October.
